Connect it in a few steps
Set up your OpenAI key.
Good to know: A ChatGPT Plus, Pro or Business subscription does not include API access. The developer platform is a separate account with its own billing, so you will need credit there before a key will work.

Sign in to the OpenAI developer platform. You can use the same email as your ChatGPT account.

Open Billing and add credit. A new key returns an insufficient quota error until there is a balance.

Open API keys, choose Create new secret key, and name it CTRON Loop so you can find it later.

Copy the key immediately. OpenAI shows it once and will not show it again.

In CTRON Loop, open Settings, then Providers. Paste the key and choose Save and test.

Can I use my ChatGPT subscription?
A ChatGPT Plus, Pro or Business subscription does not include API access. The developer platform is a separate account with its own billing, so you will need credit there before a key will work.
Do I need a OpenAI API key to use CTRON Loop?
No. Every plan includes managed AI within its limits, so you can start straight away. Connect your own key when you want direct control over models, usage and cost. Your workflows stay the same either way.
Who bills me for ChatGPT usage?
With your own key, usage is billed by OpenAI to your account, never by CTRON Loop. Your CTRON Loop plan covers the product itself.
Is my spreadsheet sent to ChatGPT?
Dashboard figures are calculated from your file by CTRON Loop's own engine. When you ask a question about a dashboard, only the calculated totals on screen are sent to the model, never the rows. Document tasks send the document text the task needs.
ChatGPT is a product of OpenAI. CTRON Loop is an independent product that connects to it with your own API key.
